The Punjab and Haryana High Court has enhanced compensation to a child injured in a 1997 road accident to ₹3.5 lakh, up from ₹70,000 awarded by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, and directed payment of the enhanced amount with 7.5% interest from the date of the claim petition. 

The case arose from an incident in April 1997 when a truck allegedly driven rashly hit the minor in Buria, causing multiple grievous injuries including fractures.
