P&H: Grants Bail in attempt to murder case; Reiterates Bail Is Rule, Speedy Trial A Right

High Court has granted regular bail to a accused of firing a gunshot at his wife and booked under Sections 109(1) and 351(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Court allowed the first bail petition under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

FIR shows that petitioner fired at his wife though no one suffered injury. The defence argued that the firearm is licensed, that the incident arose out of a misunderstanding, and that the complainant-wife has sworn an affidavit expressing a desire to withdraw the FIR.
