P&H: Grants probation to fertilizer dealers convicted under Essential Commodities Act but on furnishing personal bond and surety
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has modified the sentence of two appellants convicted for offences under the Essential Commodities Act and the Fertilizer Control Order, while maintaining their conviction and fine.
The case arose from a 1996 complaint in which M/s Thakur Dass Murari Lal and others were found guilty under Sections 7 and 12AA of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 read with Clause 19 of the Fertilizer Control Order, 1985.
