P&H: Custody of over 1 year u/s.323, 452, 506 IPC, Grants Bail in CBI Land Dispute Case, Cites Long Custody and Slow Trial
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted regular bail to Manoj Kumar in a CBI case arising out of allegations of conspiracy, trespass, cheating and forgery linked to a trust property dispute in Mohali.
The case stemmed from two FIRs, one lodged in 2022 and another in 2023, concerning alleged attempts to take illegal possession of 32 bighas of land belonging to Guru Nanak Vidhya Bhandar Trust. The prosecution alleged that forged documents were prepared and used to support claims over the land, and that armed men entered the property, assaulted security guards and damaged CCTV cameras.
