The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted regular bail to five accused in a heroin trafficking case, observing that they had been in custody for around one year and three months and that the trial was moving slowly.

Justice Sanjay Vashisth passed the common order in five connected petitions filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which corresponds to the earlier bail provision under Section 439 of the CrPC.
