P&H: Reduces compensation in Gurgaon land acquisition case, fixes market value at ₹4.83 crore per acre as per earlier award and 10% per annum escalation
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has partly allowed the State of Haryana’s appeals in a batch of land acquisition matters concerning Village Choma in Gurgaon. The dispute arose from acquisition of land for development of Residential Sector 110-A, Gurgaon, for rehabilitation purposes.
The landowners had challenged the Collector’s award of ₹60 lakh per acre before the Reference Court, which enhanced the compensation to ₹5,68,55,906 per acre. The State argued that the Reference Court had ignored sale deeds and relied only on an earlier High Court judgment in *Ram Chander and Another v. State of Haryana*.
