The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a petition challenging rejection of a delayed application for re-determination of compensation under Section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

The petitioner’s land had been acquired by the State. While the petitioner did not challenge the original award passed by the Collector, other landowners whose lands were covered by the same notification succeeded in reference proceedings and obtained enhanced compensation by award dated 09.04.2014.
