P&H: Refuses Handwriting Expert in Cheque Bounce Case, Says Signatures Were Not Disputed and comparison of handwriting appearing on body of cheque with signatures of accused would not advance defence
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a petition filed by M/s Parkash Products (India) and another in a cheque dishonour case, refusing to interfere with a trial court order that declined their request to send the cheques for handwriting expert examination.
The dispute arose from a complaint under the Negotiable Instruments Act filed by Ravinder Pal Singh, who alleged that the petitioners had purchased iron and steel goods on credit and later issued a cheque of about ₹30,895 towards payment. The cheque was dishonoured for insufficient funds, leading to the criminal complaint.
