P&H: Grants Bail to Accused in Attempt to Murder, Custody of more than 5 months, Investigation complete, Cites Clean Antecedents and Delay in Trial
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted bail to Dipanshu in a case arising out of an alleged assault during a marriage function in Charkhi Dadri, holding that the overall circumstances favoured release.
The petition was the accused’s first bail plea under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The case stemmed from an FIR registered at Bond Kalan police station for offences under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections relating to hurt, unlawful assembly, rioting and attempt-related allegations.
