P&H: Dishonour of chqeue Quashes 174-A IPC FIR After Complaint Withdrawn on Settlement

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has quashed an FIR registered under Section 174-A IPC against a woman who had been declared a proclaimed person in a cheque bounce case, after the underlying complaint was withdrawn on settlement.

Justice Vikram Aggarwal was hearing a petition filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The petitioner challenged FIR No. 471 dated 14.11.2023 and the order dated 10.07.2023 by which she had been declared a proclaimed person in a complaint under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
