P&H: Refuses to reopen Labour Court award in daily-wage worker’s termination case of ex parte labour court award and delay of about 6 years approaching High Court

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a writ petition filed by Multan Singh, who had sought to set aside a Labour Court award that rejected his claim for reinstatement, continuity of service and back wages.

Singh had claimed that he worked as a Helper-cum-Beldar on daily wages with Kurukshetra University from 1997 to 30 June 2007, and that his services were terminated from 1 July 2007 without notice, wages in lieu of notice or retrenchment compensation, allegedly in violation of Section 25F of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
