The Punjab and Haryana High Court has made absolute the anticipatory bail granted to Simranpreet Singh in a cheating and conspiracy case, after noting that he had joined the investigation and that custodial interrogation was no longer required.

The case arose from an FIR registered at Samrala, Khanna district, under Sections 318(4) and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, corresponding to Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC. The complainant had alleged that he wanted to send his son to Canada and was introduced by the petitioner to an agent, leading to a payment of about Rs.18.33 lakh into bank...
