The Punjab and Haryana High Court has partly allowed an appeal filed by Gora in an NDPS case, upholding his conviction but reducing the sentence to the period already undergone.

The case arose from FIR No. 578 dated 4 December 2002, registered at Police Station City Karnal on the complaint of ASI Sube Singh. The prosecution alleged that Gora and his co-accused Balram were intercepted near Meerut Chowk while travelling on a scooter, and a plastic sack kept between them was searched. The police claimed that 35 kg of poppy husk was recovered from the sack.
