P&H: Enhances Motor Accident Compensation to Rs. 7.74 Lakh, Income from the agricultural land would continue to accrue to claimants and only deceased’s managerial contribution could be taken into account
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has enhanced the compensation payable to the family of a man who died in a motor accident, raising the award from Rs. 2.40 lakh to Rs. 7.74 lakh.
The appeal was filed by the deceased’s wife, three major children and mother, who challenged the Tribunal’s assessment of income, multiplier, deduction for personal expenses, and the failure to add future prospects and conventional heads.
