P&H: Sets Aside Rejection of Premature Release Plea, Orders Fresh Consideration Within One Month
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has set aside the rejection of a woman prisoner’s plea for premature release and directed the Haryana authorities to reconsider her case afresh within one month.
Justice Virinder Aggarwal was hearing a writ petition filed by Kailash Devi under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution, along with Rule 187(2)(b)(ii) of the Haryana Prisons Rules, 2022.
