P&H: Motor Accident: Enhances Compensation for Death of Pregnant Buffalo from ₹6,000 to ₹30,000
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has enhanced the compensation awarded for the death of a four-year-old pregnant buffalo in a road accident, holding that the Tribunal’s award of ₹6,000 was inadequate.
Justice Amarinder Singh Grewal was hearing an appeal filed by Phool Singh alias Phul Kumar, who sought enhancement of the compensation granted by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Jind. The buffalo had died in an accident involving a Maruti car on 26 October 2000.
