P&H Grants Bail in NDPS case, says Mere involvement in other FIRs cannot by itself be a ground to decline bail.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted regular bail to Kuldeep Singh @ Bainza in an NDPS case, holding that prolonged incarceration and delay in trial cannot be ignored merely because the case involves a commercial quantity and Section 37 of the NDPS Act applies.

The petitioner was facing FIR No. 291 dated 06.09.2017 at Police Station Sadar Nakodar, District Jalandhar (Rural), for offences under Sections 21, 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act. The case involved recovery of 20 grams of heroin and 120 grams of Alprazolam.
