P&H: Court Directs Haryana to Count Notional Appointment Dates for Teachers’ Transfer Points
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Haryana authorities to treat teachers’ notional or ante-dated appointment dates, or notional promotion dates where applicable, as their dates of joining the cadre for the purposes of the connected Teacher Transfer Policy cases.
The petitions concerned teachers who said they had been appointed years after their selection, following court proceedings. They argued that the State had recognised their earlier notional appointment dates for seniority and other service benefits, but had used their later physical joining dates to calculate experience or MIS points for the 2026 teacher transfer drive.
