P&H: Directs Haryana to Count Notional Appointment Dates for Teacher Transfer Points
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Haryana authorities to treat teachers’ notional or ante-dated appointment dates, or notional promotion dates where applicable, as their dates of joining the cadre for the purposes of the connected teacher-transfer cases.
The teachers had asked the State to recalculate their experience and MIS points under the Teacher Transfer Policy, 2026. They said their appointment orders recognised earlier notional dates for seniority and other service benefits, but the transfer portal had calculated their experience from the dates they physically joined. They argued that this reduced their points and affected their transfer rankings.
