P&H: Upholds Order Allowing Handwriting Expert’s Testimony In Private Complaint; Terms Trial Court’s Approach “Hyper-Technical”
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has upheld a revisional court’s order permitting a handwriting and document expert to be examined during post-charge evidence in a warrant case instituted on a private complaint. Dismissing a criminal revision filed by the accused, Justice Manisha Batra affirmed that the phrase “remaining witnesses” in Section 246(6) CrPC must be given a liberal interpretation.
