P&H: Grants Bail In Recovery of Mis‑Branded Liquor’ Case; Says Second Bail Plea Maintainable.

High Court has granted regular bail to an accused in involving alleged sale of mis‑branded liquor, while reiterating that a second or successive bail application is maintainable in law. 

The case arises from an FIR alleging that liquor of cheaper brands was being filled into empty bottles of premium brands for sale at higher prices. A police raid allegedly recovered several cartons of liquor, empty bottles, caps and related materials. Offences were registered under Section 61(1)(a) of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), with additional offences later added.
