P&H: Rejects Delayed Enhancement Pleas in Motor Accident Case, Reduces Compensation for One Deceased in absence of IT Return, bank statements, book of account or other documentary evidence

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed two long-delayed attempts by the parents of two accident victims to seek higher compensation, while also reducing the award in one of the connected appeals filed by the insurer.

The case arose from a road accident on 18 April 2011 in which Pawan Deep Singh and his sister Kirandeep Kaur died after their car was hit by an offending vehicle near Village Kot Karor Kalan. Their parents filed separate claim petitions before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Faridkot, which awarded ₹11 lakh in each case.
