The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by The British India Corporation Ltd. and another against a judgment that had set aside the retirement of an employee at the age of 58 years.

The dispute concerned Vijay Kumar Arora, who was retired by an office order dated 05.05.2004 after attaining 58 years of age. He challenged the retirement order, arguing that the Certified Standing Orders applicable to clerical staff fixed the age of superannuation at 60 years.
