P&H: Grants Bail in NDPS Says Mere pendency of other criminal cases cannot be made sole ground to deny bail, particularly when some cases had ended in discharge or acquittal and in the remaining cases petitioner was already on bail.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted regular bail to Jaspal Singh alias Guggi in an NDPS case arising out of the alleged recovery of 5 grams of heroin from him near Ferozepur. Justice Virinder Aggarwal said the alleged recovery, as recorded in the memo, included the weight of the polythene packet and therefore fell within the category of small quantity.
