P&H: Directs Gram Panchayat to consider villagers’ plea for purchase of shamlat land under amended law
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Gram Panchayat to consider within six weeks a plea by two brothers seeking purchase of land on which they claim to have built residential houses before 1950. The petitioners had approached the court after claiming that the authorities were moving to demolish their houses despite earlier proceedings and later changes in the law.
