The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed a batch of writ petitions filed by Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company Limited against concurrent orders passed by the consumer fora in a mis-selling dispute.

The case arose after a consumer purchased an insurance plan with an annual premium and later claimed that the policy sold to her was drastically different from the financial plan that had been presented to her. She approached the District Consumer Commission, Chandigarh, alleging misrepresentation and unfair trade practice.
